It is not that the puzzle itself is tough, but the material is generally just waxed cardboard so even when you have 5 pieces together, when you add a further, they come apart so you spend the whole time attempting to hold it together or putting it back together soon after you add a piece. Very frustrating. My 8 yr old and I took practically a half an hour to full it. We decided not to give this out as a valentine as a result
