My son is a lego fanatic. His preferred themes are Power Miners (discontinued), Star Wars, Atlantis, Ninjago and Pharoah's Quest. I initially hesitated to order this set for the reason that of yet another comment I read, but we identified it holds together as nicely as most lego sets of comparable size for the duration of play. He enjoyed developing the Atlantis Exploration Headquarters, and has enjoyed playing with it due to the fact. This is his third Atlantis set. Whilst he likes it, I would say he and his twin brother have been less interested in the Atlantis theme general as a scenario for pretend play. We do like that the set contains lots of very good components for creative play when they're done with the original construct (robots and space ships are favorites right here -- lego lovers, you know what I mean). Btw, my son is 6, but a very achieved lego builder.
Even though this kit is large, it really is quite hassle-free. My eight year-old did all of it on his personal and just necessary help with the axles. Commonly, we pick kits that are a tiny a great deal more troublesome so mom and son can perform together. All in all, a great kit with a lot of detail.
