Buyer Critiques

sorry to say to the fans out there that have been waiting for this guy, do not give your hopes up.
just got my pre-order nowadays from toys r us. absolute rubbish :( been seeking forward to this factor for five years now, i am really bummed out. the creators had a honestly good idea, but mass production did it no favors. guess i shoulda identified better considering the fact that it ended up getting a toys r us exclusive. $50 is way also a lot for this thing, $30 might have been a small less difficult to swallow the suffering.
my greatest gripe is that it appears to have about as a lot memory as a casio calculator watch... pause two seconds to listen to the music, dance for about 5-ten seconds, pause once again, rinse repeat. side by side with the spoon video [...] its not even remotely close. occasionally it looks like it's having epileptic fits...
it really is cute to appear at, other than that it's a total waste:
- loud motor (turn that music up if you want to hear it over the motor...)
- jerky movements
- the base seems sturdy adequate, but the touch sensors feels like a thing a kid would break super readily
- TAKES eight AA BATTERIES (what is this a rc automobile from the 80s?)
- the 'bleeps bloops' it tends to make when waking or shutting down are awfully loud and have no volume control
- none of the pictures or videos i've seen via the internet give you a sense of scale either (at ~1ft high, it really is way bigger than i expected)
- touch mode is even worse than music mode... most of the time you've gotta hold down the base to be able to push the sensor difficult enough for it to respond.
i'll attempt to leave a video evaluation tomorrow, to it to work in music mode requires the volume to be way too loud for this time of night... :/ might possibly be ok if you are djing at a club or party, but this is most certainly not workplace friendly!
guess i could possibly hack it and see if i can increase it in anyway. (note: turning it off is already an improvement...)
sorry for the undesirable news absolutely everyone :( possibly they will make a two. version, i'd gladly spend $100+ to get one particular that worked correctly.

We've had the Keepon because the Sunday after it came out and we've been playing with it daily. My youngsters love it, they think it is hilarious! They are playing with it in touch mode, it squeaks and tends to make funny noises, it reminds me of R2D2 sounds. He repeats some issues you do, and moves around to appear at you (following your voice). Here's a small clip of him rockin' out in front of the laptop, followed by a bit of touch-mode play. It's as well bad he did not come with USB so that he could use power from the laptop, because then I would leave him on all the time, it is entertaining to watch him dance. Keepon does have A/C so you can decide to purchase an adapter separately to save batteries. He does tend to have a quirky pause each when in a even though but it really is not such a major deal as other reviewers have stated. He just continues dancing away! Keepon is durable mainly because has taken a beating from the little a single and is nevertheless completely functional. Accurate, it is not the Keepon Pro as on YouTube, but it is still a awesome toy. Entertaining to watch, entertaining to play with, entertaining - so far so decent
