don't be misled by other product names. this is the actual splash ball. it is a bit far more than the inexpensive knockoffs, but those knock offs final 1/2 a pool season, whilst these suckers last two seasons at least if effectively cared for. My kids and I play with them in the pool all the time. We do make sure to rinse them thoroughly in nonchlorinated water following each use and do not leave them out in the sun. This prolongs their general condition. I did the exact same routine on the affordable knockoffs, but it didn't support they turned to mush in about 2 months.
