I bought this for my 5 year old son (even even though it's rated at 6+) and it wasn't that hard to assemble except that the pieces did not fit together properly or securely. Lots of times for the duration of the constructing method, putting a single component on would knock a further component off (even when I did it). Then, once we got it put together, he could not play with it at all without having numerous pieces falling off repeatedly. We had been each Fairly frustrated and I was rather sorry that I had bought it. I ended up supergluing some of the pieces on just to ratchet down the frustration element, but of course that means it can not essentially be taken apart and place back together. I do not have a lot of expertise with megabloks, perhaps they are all that way?
