Buyer Critiques

Below I am going to cut and paste my initial review of this toy, a single I posted almost three years ago. My 5 stars nonetheless hold correct while I have had some leg weakness considering that then (but we've owned the toy 6 years now and I've got three larger kids--7, five, three--leaning on it in just about every direction as well as an 80 lb. labrador retriever who has taken to standing in it to look over the fence, ahem...anyway). I am about to rescrew new holes in each leg and the table and fill the legs with stand to make it stable once again but it is completely worth it offered the joy it has brought my young children. The water cover is nevertheless 100% effective and the toy nevertheless looks practically brand new. I have bought one far more new umbrella considering that my last assessment. So, that is two new umbrellas and some leg maintenance in 6 years. Not bad. I am determined to maintain it since it is a excellent location for us to do lots of messy science experiments and activities, as listed beneath, that are finest kept outdoors.
Old Evaluation from May well 2007:
Initially of all, we have had this toy for three years and it still looks like the initial day it came out of the box (in the BLAZING Texas sun). Also, it has been moved about too a number of times to count and is nevertheless as sturdy as ever. It is durable. Plus, it really does keep water out and the cover stays put tightly even by way of the most violent and windy thunderstorms. The umbrella is amazing, although I did have to replace it when due to weathering. I soooooooo do not care. Read on...
I am on my third child now and if there is one issue I am sick of, it is the toy that's a a single-trick pony. I am actually seeking for a lot more versatility in a toy. That mentioned, let me tell you why we will maintain this toy until the youngsters outgrow it even although we also have an 8x10 ft. sandbox in the back yard. Confident, it really is a sand and water table but we've completed it all:
(1) sand alone
(2) water alone
(three) potting soil/trowels/silk plants/plastic pots
(four) landscaping stones and modest Tonka construction autos (aka "the quarry")--typically the little trucks even deliver to the Tonka Mighty and it goes on for hours
(five) bubble solution to use with the substantial wands and even the modest and various wands (so that the youngsters are not fighting over the tiny opening of a tiny bottle of bubbles that inevitably gets spilled all over the patio)
(6) a Mommy-created iceburg (colored blue) on the hottest summer day with dollar store penguins and polar bears--you can even shave the iceburg to make snow (I applied a putty knife) and place crushed ice (if your refrigerator tends to make it) in the water to make it a happier habitat
(7) dishwater and play dishes with sponges and scrubbers to play clean-up with out producing a mess at the sink like they do inside
(eight) aquarium gravel/toys/plants with pretend fish
(9) sand over buried "fossils" (pretend dinosaur bones located at the neighborhood dollar shop) -- Place a little layer of sand on the bottom of the table, place bones all more than that, add much more sand to fill, then saturate all the sand with water and let it dry entirely (left in sun, may well take a day or two depending on temps). That way, they'll really be in a position to type of chisel the bones out rather of just effortlessly moving the sand.
(10) sand sifters and dirt with many different sizes of rocks that I spray painted gold -- super fun day!
(11) measuring spoons/cups/jugs that educate lessons about volume -- pair with bath color tablets to find out about color mixing!
(12) Did you know that Small Consumers Love to go to the beach? (Off subject, they're also not opposed to a tumble in the dishwasher!)
(13) any number of arts and crafts activities that I would rather do outside than inside (creating slime, papier mache, etc.)
(14) tin pans/muffin cups paired with dirt/sticks/water mud for mud pies
(15) sand castles, of course!
(16) dinosaurs and varied animals add a tremendous quantity of play worth to your basic sand environment.
Nicely, that's all that I can don't forget undertaking in 3 years time as I sit here writing this critique, although I'm certain there's more. As if all that isn't sufficient, this table is a outstanding size. No elbowing for alot more space here. There is area for 6 kids. Yep, 1 on each finish and two on every side. Accurate story.
Do you miss sipping iced tea and reading a magazine or chatting with friends? It can take place once more while your toddler plays happily and safely. I Really like this toy. Can you tell?

I bought this even right after the reviews about leaks in the legs. The design actually is a bit silly as there is no cause to have holes for the legs as you screw them in through the side. We put it together and it leaked, I took it apart bought some sealant at my nearby hardware retailer and reassembled. No even more leaks and my little girl (16 months) loves this table. We only place water in each sides as that's entertainment adequate for her. We reside in Texas and I'm afraid of snakes and bugs obtaining in, so when she's ready for sand the fact that it's not on the ground and has a cover will support. I can see how it would be a little heavy with sand if you require to continuously move it but overall it really is a terrific item. If we did not have to use sealant to get it to quit leaking I would have offered it four stars.
